What is Open Data?

The term Open Data (OD) is used to describe data made available to the public with certain restrictions. Both Saarland University and the Max Planck Society support the publication of research data while acknowledging the resulting challenges. The application of the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) is closely linked to OD.

Saarland University currently uses decentralized methods for storing and archiving research data but is working on a central solution. Learn more about the UdS research data project here.
